We review recent progress in calculating kaon spectrum, pseudoscalar meson decay constants, B K , ε ′ /ε, K → ππ matrix elements, kaon semileptonic form factors, and moments of kaon distribution amplitudes on the lattice. We also address the issue of how best to improve the staggered fermion formulation for the action and operators.

We present a lattice computation of the first moment of the kaon's leading-twist distribution amplitude. We use ensembles with 2+1 dynamical flavours of domain wall fermions and the Iwasaki gauge action from the RBC and UKQCD joint dataset. We observe the expected chiral behaviour and obtain ξ (2 GeV) ≡ 3/5 a 1 K (2 GeV) = 0.032(3), which agrees very well with other results obtained using QCD s...
